Stocks open higher after Trump signs stimulus package

Stocks opened with modest gains Monday, after President Donald Trump over the weekend reversed course and signed a package of legislation that included $900 billion in relief to consumers and small businesses and $1.4 trillion to fund the government. The Dow Jones Industrial Average
rose 182 points, or 0.6%, to 30,382, while the S&P 500
was up 0.7% at 3,731. The Nasdaq Composite
gained 0.9% to 12,918. Trump last week had balked at signing the package, which had been negotiated by a bipartisan group of lawmakers with his administration, calling for an increase in checks to households from $600 to $2,000.
