Robinhood Markets Inc. has filed for a confidential initial public offering with the Securities and Exchange Commission, according to a report late Tuesday. While its listing plans could change, as has been the case lately with several companies going public through direct listings, Robinhood filed its plans to go public according to sources close to the matter, Bloomberg reported, following speculation that it would do so this month. Robinhood has been in the limelight lately as the platform of choice for trading in volatile so-called “meme stocks,” prompting members of Congress to argue for more SEC oversight into the company’s business model.
